The Drowsy tour is currently in St. Paul, and the local paper has a podcast interview with Jonathan Crombie here. He shares a couple interesting tidbits!

Hey everyone!

I just had the pleasure of seeing this wonderful show on tour a few weeks ago. It is amazing and beautiful, and I only wish I still had the chance to see it on Broadway with our beloved Sutton Foster *sigh*

I was just wondering if anyone knew of a good place to get some quotes from the play, specifically some at the end, when the Man in the Chair was talking about how important musicals are, and how you're transported to a different world, etc.

I've been looking everywhere for a script or something of this nature, but I haven't been able to find anything. *sigh*

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi everyone! So, I have a question. Does this works for anyobody in here? It should be the photos from the last curtain call of The Drowsy Chaperone on Broadwayworld. I saw them on my friend's computer a few days ago so I couldn't save anything, and now that I'm using my own I 'd love to have them. They are really amazing. If it's working for anybody or you already have them on your computer, please let me know and make another Drowsy fan happy :D

But it's so weird, I don't know why the article is all f*cked up and there aren't any pics at all on broadway.com either. Does anyone know about that? Actually, I don't care. Just anyone tell me that you got to save the pics as soon as you looked at them. Really, I have to have them. Thanks.

Hey everyone -

I'm sure by. Now you have all heard the news. If not, it was announced yesterday that The Drowsy Chaperone will close on December 30th.

We had planned on putting together this project for Beth's last show but now everything has to be done very quickly. We have a lot less time!

And please remember... this is a SECRET!

Which means... BETH. If you are reading this page... DO NOT CLICK THE LINK! You will spoil your own surprise! ;)

So here's the deal: )

Thanks guys!!

Of course, I don't have a sad Drowsy icon to embody the message that I'm about to share, but share it I must:

The Drowsy Chaperone is set to close on December 30.

According to the article, when it closes it will have played 32 previews and 674 performances. That's such a huge bummer, particularly as I'm unlikely to be able to make it out there to see it on Broadway before the 30th.

Sad, sad, sad news.

Hello!

I posted here the other day to let everyone know about www.bethleavel.com and about our project for raise money for BC/EFA.

The good news? The strike is over! Drowsy is back up and Beth is just as amazing as she ever was. We've also raised $225.00 so far towards BC/EFA in honor of Beth and Drowsy.

The bad news? It's no longer a surprise because super slueth Beth (who admits to not being good with the computer!) actually FOUND the surprise when she googled herself the other day.

We went ahead and gave her an update on our total so far and we will give her another update in about two weeks when the fundraiser comes to an end. She is really excited about the whole thing.

So... if you'd like to donate, there's still time! Also, if you want to send a note/message to Beth (or anyone in the cast) please email us and we will take it all with us when we give her the final total.

You can donate here: http://support.broadwaycares.org/site/TR/?pg=personal&fr_id=1090&px=1073281 to support our "Beth Leavel Website" team.

If you only have a dollar or two to spare, you can still donate! No donation is too small. Any donation under $5 can be send via paypal: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_flow&SESSION=XpvRibOIm_eUKQa06V-1GoYLVSID_871hn9RriQFxm0QQIMbltfW6oazYXm&dispatch=5885d80a13c0db1f3893a48c4ade7e5f78c7750e78748f2bfb42a31f0919a77a

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to post and let everyone know that my friend, [info]babybeehive and I have started up www.bethleavel.com

The site is up and running, but not quite finished.  We still have work to do and lots of articles and pictures to add.  Also, if you have any pictures of you with Beth, please sent them our way and we'll put them up in the photo gallery!

Beth has seen the work we've done so far on the site.  She gave us the go-ahead to start the site and she is very excited about the whole thing.

We are starting a little project -- since BC/EFA is losing out on so much money during the Broadway strike, we are trying to help make a difference in honor of Beth and the cast/crew of The Drowsy Chaperone.

This project is going to be a surprise for the cast/crew so if you happen to know anyone affiliated with Beth and/or Drowsy, please do not let them in on this!

Please take some time to check out the site and consider helping out with this little project.

Thanks!!

Jamie

I have become lamentably behind on all the news with the Drowsy Chaperone, being as I've been so busy, but with the newsletter that I got in my email today, I received a few excellent surprises!

The first is that Bob Martin will be performing as Man in Chair in the Toronto stop of the tour (the launching point). Georgia Engel will also be in the tour cast, reprising her original role (while JoAnne Worely plays Mrs Tottendale on Broadway now). I was disappointed, briefly, when I continued to read and found that Bob Martin will be leaving the tour after Toronto. I mean, who wouldn't love to see him in that role, especially when you can't get to Broadway in time to see original casts much? So, I kept reading anyhow, to see if there was anything else exciting, and found, to my surprise, that I was made excited all over again! Jonathan Crombie will be picking up the role of Man in Chair after the Toronto stop - in Cleveland, which I have tickets to see! Hurrah! So, if I don't get to see the original, at least I can see one of my childhood crushes playing an absolutely brilliant role!

I just thought I would share. :) Is anyone else already going to see the tour in their hometowns?
